About Sonia

Sonia Cordero Kueng is an award winning author based in Central Florida, whose stories were inspired while taking pictures of her dog Luna in the Blue Ridge Mountains. With a degree in Early Childhood Education, Sonia dedicated 20 years of her lifeā€™s work to educating and empowering young children. In 2021, Sonia sought after her dream of writing a childrenā€™s picture book. Through extensive research and dedication to her goals, she focused on writing stories that would be nurturing for children and foster a love of reading. She has finally fulfilled that goal with Todayā€™s the Day, Luna Meets Lily.
Along with Luna, Sonia and her husband have a Labrador named Blondie and two cats, Sora and Oliver, who are all from shelters. Sonia and her husband are very passionate about animals and would like to encourage everyone to donate to, volunteer at and rescue pets from local shelters.

All About Luna

ā€œSoniaā€™s life changed the day she received this text messageā€

ā€œHi titi, I know you just lost Shelby. This is Luna. ā€œShe needs a new home, and I canā€™t think of a better family.ā€

That was the day, ā€œSoniaā€™s relatives,ā€ ā€œJenny, Willie, and Sara,ā€ brought Luna into Soniaā€™s life. From that day forward, the Adventures with Luna began.

While taking photos of Luna, Sonia was inspired to write the stories of Lunaā€™s explorations. Luna loves to put her nose in everything she encounters. She is fascinated by the world around her and loves to watch anything that moves. From the buzzing bees flying above her to the cows she tries to play with when she visits the farm. Sonia says, ā€œAs I took pictures of Luna exploring through the fields in the Blue Ridge Mountains, her stories came to life.ā€ Like, Todayā€™s the Day, Luna Meets Lily, the stories Sonia has written are all based on actual life events from Lunaā€™s explorations.
